Lara Caraturo - Project Director

Lara is the founder and director of the Italian Wine + Food Festival and a passionate home cook. She has worked as Sommelier or Manager in Sydney restaurants for over 20 years, including Aria Restaurant, XO, Cruise and Galileo, plus 8 years at northern beaches Italian institution Pilu at Freshwater running a multi-award-winning Italian wine list. Lara is the Australian representative for Italian wine and food media giant Gambero Rosso, running their Australian events and co-ordinating the Australian content for their ‘Italian Restaurants of the World Guide’. Jane Strode - Curator Food Content

Acclaimed Sydney chef and author Jane Strode began cooking at Neil Perry’s Rockpool in 1996. She also trained with Ross Lusted and pastry queen Lorraine Godsmark - this is when her love of pastry began. Moving to Melbourne in 1999 to work at Langton's Restaurant, Jane met her late husband, legend chef Jeremy Strode. Returning to Sydney in 2005 they opened much loved Bistrode in Surry Hills (which eventually moved to the CBD) and wrote two cookbooks together, Two's Cooking and Bistrode. Jane has contributed recipes to Australian House and Garden and SMH Good Living and ran the Crown Street Public School Kitchen Garden for 4 years. Jane has 2 sons, the youngest Nathaniel is in year 5 at Crown Street Public School.

Jeremy Blackmore - Curator Beverage Content

Mixologist Jeremy Blackmore is the owner of Surry Hills favourite tequila and beer den Tio’s Cerveceria. He was part of the team at legendary Shady Pines Saloon and also opened The Cliff Dive in Darlinghurst. Jeremy is a tequila and mezcal expert, importer and recently opened the tiny mezcal bar Cantina OK in Sydney’s CBD. Jeremy’s son Barnaby is in Kindy at Crown Street Public School. www.tios.com.au

Tim Kliendienst - Art Director

Tim has worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for print and web for the past 20 years. His design experience has been predominantly in the areas of the arts, music and publishing. For the past 15 years Tim has been instrumental in helping establish and evolve the visual identity for Sydney’s Belvoir St Theatre and B Sharp in Belvoir downstairs theatre. He has worked for Review, the arts supplement in The Weekend Australian newspaper, receiving several awards from the International Society of News Design for cover illustration and design. Work on other Alphabet projects includes Sydney Festival, JC Decaux, Legs On The Wall, Sydney Opera House, Riverside Theatre’s Spot On Festival and the Casula Powerhouse. Tim has 2 children at Crown Street Public School, Elodie in year 6 and Bowie in year 4. www.alphabetstudio.co

Carol Sae Yang - Creative Director / Styling

Carol has over 20 years styling experience in fashion, commercial and interiors, working with Australia's top photographers, models, and personalities. Having completed studies in journalism and fashion design, Carol established herself in print media as a beauty and fashion editor producing and styling covers and shoots for The Sydney Morning Herald supplements including 'Good Living' and 'Spectrum.' As a freelance stylist, Carol has dressed men and women for productions on Channel 10, Channel 7 and MTV Australia whilst contributing to key print titles including CosmopolitanInStyleBride to Be and various Hardie Grant publications.
